Why I’m building it.
Data and running are two of my interests. While using ChatGPT to get work done during a run, I wanted the conversation to include readings from my Garmin.
That became Motion Relay: a way to talk through an active workout with live metrics in the conversation. Keep moving, ask a question and explore what your numbers mean for the goals you share.
Availability
The Garmin listing is MotionRelay — Beta Preview. Phone access requires a testing invitation. Confirm the supported phone and assistant setup before installing.

Start with a question. Follow up as your workout unfolds.
- “How am I tracking against my race pace, and what could I adjust?”
- “At this pace, when will I finish my 10K?”
- “How much more climbing do I need to reach my 300-metre goal today?”
- “Am I within the heart-rate range I set for this easy run?”
- “Is my current pace faster or slower than my average so far?”
- “Give me a quick check-in: my pace, distance and progress toward my goal.”
Example prompts for a supported beta setup. Share your race distance, target pace or climbing goal in the conversation. Answers depend on the live readings your watch provides and the connection; climbing means recorded ascent toward your target, not a prediction of the terrain ahead.

The Garmin data field is available on Connect IQ. iPhone and Android access requires a beta invitation, which confirms your supported ChatGPT Voice setup.

This group requires ChatGPT mobile Voice access. Voice alone does not establish Motion compatibility; your invitation will confirm the supported setup.
Leave out passwords, health details and workout data. Invitations are not guaranteed. Approved testers receive installation instructions by email.

The current product direction is not to sell personal Garmin, running, health, fitness or activity data and not to use that data for targeted advertising.
Any sharing is intended to be limited to services needed for the application to function. A product-specific notice will be published before release and will describe the implementation, data access, storage, retention and sharing accurately.
